Toyota's S. Korean unit hit hard by Takata's faults


(MENAFN) Toyota is recalling more than 6,200 cars sold in South Korea for defective airbags, hence it will impact 6,209 units of three vehicle types; the Prius, Prius PHV and Lexus CT200h.

The cars come with side airbags that deploy in some crashes, but due to some faulty parts, the airbag and other mechanisms of the airbag may penetrate through the inside of the car.

The latest recollection adds to millions of cars the world's largest carmaker was forced to evoke globally because of defective airbags produced by the infamou Japanese manufacturer Takata.

Furthermore, reports have revealed that the domestic importer and distributor of the British Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, is also recalling 15 automobiles sold in South Korea for defective air bags.
