UAE Ambassador meets UN Special Representative to Somalia

MOGADISHU, 27th July, 2016 (WAM) -- Mohammed Ahmed Othman Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Somalia, has met with Michael Keating, the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative for Somalia, and discussed cooperation relations between the UAE and the United Nations Office in Somalia.

During the meeting, which took place at the Embassy in Mogadishu, the UN envoy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE for its efforts and support to Somalia in various fields, stressing the importance of cooperation between the United Nations and the UAE and the strengthening of cooperation between the UAE embassy in Mogadishu and the Office of the United Nations.

The UAE ambassador underlined the importance of relations between the UN and the UAE and the positive role they play in Somalia in order to support stability.
