UAE- Abdullah bin Zayed chairs EHRC meeting

ABU DHABI, 26th July, 2016 (WAM) H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council (EHRC), headed the fifth meeting of the council, held in Abu Dhabi today.

Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, presented a brief about the cabinet resolution, issued on 26th June, on regulating admission of Emirati students in private schools that are rated as weak in performance.

She emphasised the importance of a media plan to spread awareness among the parents about the resolution to guarantee quality education, in line with the government's vision.

Dr. Mohammed Al Mu'alla, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Education, made a presentation about internship programmes in higher education institutions. He referred to the agreements with organisations providing such programmes.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Emirates Youth Council to study the internship programmes and provide feedback.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention; Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hamadi, Minister of Education; Najla bint Mohammed Al Awar, Minister of Community Development; Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education; Shamma bint Sohail bin Fares Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Dr. Mohammed Al Mu'alla, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Education.

The EHRC was established through a resolution by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to find quick solutions in the field of education and bring it in line with the labour market.
