Doha: In order to complete laying sewage pipes in Al Khor, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced temporary road closures and traffic diversions at three locations starting from tomorrow.

The first closure takes place on Bilal Bin Rabah Street, where part of the street will be fully closed in both directions to lay the pipes. Traffic will be diverted to Al Tamiyah Street and Al Arab Street, and it will last until end of October 2016.

The second closure will occur along 251 metres of Ein Al Hlaitan Street on one direction of the road, so traffic will be diverted to Abu Bakr Al Siddiq and Al Tawwash streets until mid-November 2016.

Ashghal will implement a diversion on one direction of Street 211 as well, extending from Al Thakhira Main Road in front of the emergency entrance of Al Khor Hospital.

The traffic diversion will last until August 16, and during this period motorists can use Industrial Roundabout 2 as an alternative way.

Closures will help laying sewage rising mains, as part of Al Thakhira Sewage Treatment plant Works and associated pipelines. Signage will be installed to indicate the closed and the open parts of the roads at the three locations, as shown in the map.

Ashghal will also implement temporary traffic diversion on Othman Bin Affan Street, located between Al Waab and Ibn Amir streets. The traffic diversion will be implemented starting from

Friday until Saturday.

During the diversion, one lane between Al Waab and Al Huwaila Streets will be closed while the two-way traffic will be diverted to the opposite lane, which will remain open. The centre of Othman Bin Affan Street between Al Huwaila and Ibn Amir Streets will be closed and the two-way traffic will be diverted to the opposite lane of the street, as shown in the map.

The authority is implementing this temporary traffic diversion to enable the works of Stage 2 of the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Al Aziziya East.

For all diversions, Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the closures and diversions. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
