DOHA: With an increase in services to Jeddah and Madinah, Qatar Airways is to operate 137 flights weekly to Saudi Arabia from September 1.
The airline will connect travellers from the kingdom to more than 150 destinations worldwide and enable football fans to conveniently travel to support Al Ahli, the country";s much-loved football team.
From August 1, the airline will double its frequencies to Jeddah, increasing from 14 flights a week to 28 between King Abdulaziz International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha.
From September 1, Qatar Airways will introduce an additional seven flights a week to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah.
Ehab Amin, Qatar Airways (QA) Senior Vice President Commercial GCC, Levant, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Africa and Indian Subcontinent, said: 'We are pleased to announce our increased services to these two cities within Saudi Arabia. By adding an extra 21 flights a week we are giving travellers even more flexibility to explore the world through our hub, Hamad International Airport, in Doha.
'As the official sponsor of the Jeddah-Based club, the addition of two more daily flights to Jeddah – to a total of four daily flights – will also enable Al-Ahli Saudi FC fans to travel to watch their favourite team play, while also opening up a world of more than 150 destinations to customers who want to travel abroad.”
Travellers from Saudi Arabia can take advantage of the increased frequencies to visit any of the new destinations that Qatar Airways has launched this year, which include exciting cities all around the globe, such as Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta in the US, Adelaide in Australia, and Marrakech in Morroco. QA will soon offer service to Pisa, Italy; Helsinki, Finland; Windhoek, Namibia and Sarajevo, Bosnia, with dozens more destinations planned to start over the next 12 months. With the increase in flight frequency, Qatar Airways will also have more First Class seats available, allowing even more passengers to experience the airline";s award-winning premium class service.
