As part of Dirhami Initiative, ADCED organises financial literacy workshops for the young generation of Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 26th July, 2016 (WAM) : As part of Dirhami initiative, the Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED) organised in partnership with the Family Development Foundation (FDF) a financial literacy workshop targeting the young generation of Abu Dhabi. The Financial Literacy workshop involved children from the age of nine to twelve years old with the aim to raise their awareness about financial issues related to spending and saving.

The workshop was held at the FDF headquarter, highlighting various financial issues such as how to make wise financial decision based on knowledge and experience, when deciding to save, borrow, invest or simply manage your cash.

Dr. Salah El Halyan, an Emirati financial expert, shared his expertise in personal financial planning and budgeting by providing advice to the audience on how to manage their finance.

In 2015 ADCED organised a total of nine financial literacy workshops, four of these workshops have been done in partnership with the family foundation, and fine were organized for employee of public and private companies based in Abu Dhabi. 490 people attended the financial literacy workshops last year with a satisfaction rate of 85 per regarding the quality and the value of the information provided.

Following the success and popularity of Dirhami initiative in the last six years, ADCED and its partners will continue to raise community awareness on how to make sound financial decisions by making rational planning for their spending and budgeting, both in their personal life and in professional carrier.
