US give green light to import Iran's famous carpets

(MENAFN) Complications to the export of Iranian carpet to the US have been solved and the US market is now open to Iranian carpets after the execution of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1.

Isfahan Province exported handwoven carpets worth USD2 million weighing 27 tons through March-June to many global destinations, but the US claimed the highest share with 33pct of the outbound shipments.

In particular, overall exports of handwoven carpets from the Republic hit over 2,000 tons worth USD66mn during the cited period, which reflects a progress of 39.8pct in value as opposed to 2015's same timeframe.

Furthermore, in spite the fierce competition of many major regional nations like China, India and Pakistan to get the upper hand in the carpet market, no country has been able to compete with Iranian carpets.
