S. Korea welcomes numerous cruise voyagers in H1


(MENAFN) South Korea witnessed a robust increase in the total of visitors who arrived to the nation through cruise ships in the first six months of the current year.

In detail, a whopping 899,539 passengers, including 246,783 crewmembers, arrived at four ports in the country over the January-June timeframe, up 122pct from 2015.

Moreover, nine ferries newly started operations this year, including Skysea Golden Era, a 70,000-ton cruise ship by Chinese cruise company SkySea Holding International Ltd.

If the current trend continues, an overall of 841 ferries will operate to accommodate over 1.9mn passengers this year, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) projected.
