Norway pledges to sustain balanced gas supply for EU

(MENAFN) Amid the global economic turmoil driven mainly by crude prices' plummet, Norway has reaffirmed that it will stay a reliable and long-term supplier of gas to Europe, according to the received data.

The Scandinavian kingdom proposed an energy security package which includes necessary offers to equip the EU for global energy transition as well as to be prepared for possible energy supply disruptions.

Based on European Commission's data, the package sets out a wide range of measures to reinforce the EU's flexibility to gas supply troubles, by moderating energy demand and raising energy production in Europe.

Additionally, the policies also consist of further developing a well-functioning and fully integrated internal energy market, not to mention the diversification of energy sources, suppliers and routes.
