Scattered rain likely today

DOHA: Rain lashed Abu Samra, the southern part of the country, yesterday night leading to low visibility and dust. Visibility was very low at Abu Samra, Mesaieed and Wakra areas due to dust. Motorists have advised to be cautious, tweeted the Ministry of Interior (MOI).

The Qatar Meteorology Department forecast scattered rain today afternoon in places which are closer to the shore. The inshore will be hazy to misty and will be hot in the day. Chances to have local clouds with scattered rain afternoon. The speed of northwesterly wind is expected to range between 15kt to 18kt inshore and between eight to 18kt offshore. The visibility could be low to 3km or less at places. The highest temperature will be in Abu Samra from 34 to 43 Celsius, followed by Dukhan from 33 to 40 Celsius. The mercury in Doha will range between 34 to 40 Celsius. Al Ruwais will be less hotter with a temperature of 36 Celsius maximum.
