Emirati woman shot by husband dies

An Emirati woman, who was shot by her compatriot husband, succumbed to injuries on Saturday morning at the Khalifa Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

As per police sources, investigations are still going on to identify the reasons behind the crime. "Though the husband surrendered to the Maamura police station and admitted to his crime, he has not revealed his motives for the crime."

The Minister of Health Abdul Rahman Al Owais had ordered the victim, identified only as H.A.A., to be airlifted to the Khalifa hospital for medical care, who was initially admitted to the Saqr government hospital.

Salem Al Nar, Federal National Council member, said all the Ministry of Health officials spared no effort to rescue the life of the woman. "I was personally following up the condition of the shot woman until late hour at the hospital," he said.

Maj-Gen Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the RAK Police, had said that the Emirati woman, in her forties, was shot several times by her husband in their house.
