Qatar's global payments reach USD10.4bn


(MENAFN) Remittances from Qatar emphasized an increase with global transfers out of the country standing at USD10.4bn last year and S. Asia attracted 70 percent of them.

Additionally, S. Asian nations were the largest beneficiaries of payments coming from Qatar, while India alone accounted for USD3.99bn of them.

On the other hand, Nepal received the second highest payments from Qatar with USD2.02bn in 2015 and Bangladesh came third with USD525mn.

Accordingly, in 2011 remittances from Qatar were almost USD6.77bn and this had increased to USD10.09bn in 2014.
