S. Korea, Iran intend to start dual fish farming scheme

(MENAFN) South Korea and Iran are prepared to initiate extensive talks on improving their joint collaboration in the fisheries segment that will comprise a mutual fish farming project.

In more detail, the discussions will be conducted in the Islamic Republic from Thursday involving officials from South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and their Iranian counterparts.

Additionally, the Persian Gulf Republic is already the biggest fish farming country in the Middle East, annually producing some 325,000 tons of fishery products through farming, based on reports.

"A joint venture in the Iranian market will not only offer a chance for our fish farming industry to leap forward, but it may also help create a Korean wave of fishery products in Iran," said a top official.
