Oman- Bank Sohar supports Al Wahda Sport Team

In its most recent show of support to sports and youth development in Oman, Bank Sohar has announced its sponsorship of the Wahda Sport Team, a part of the Sohar Club, for the duration of a year.

The partnership was commemorated with the launch of the team's all-new T-shirt, which now prominently displays the bank's logo. The launch event took place at the bank's branch in Sohar and was overseen by Naeema al Farsi, chief branch manager of the Sohar Branch.

Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM of HR and corporate support at Bank Sohar, said, 'Established in 1970 under the Sohar Club, the Wahda Sport Team is a renowned team with six championship cups to their name. I am confident our sponsorship of the team will help us in promoting the culture of competitive sports in Oman. Through their efforts, we wish to spread the values of teamwork, healthy competition and a healthy lifestyle, while at the same time hoping that the success of the team over the years will inspire more youth in the country to take up football and other such competitive sporting activities.'

Thanking Bank Sohar for their support, Saleh Khalaf Nasser al Mawali, chairman of the Wahda Sport Team, said, 'On behalf of everyone on the team, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the bank for their generous support. It means a lot to each one of us and we will ensure to make the bank proud of our performance in every match we play.'

The bank has always focused its efforts towards driving awareness and promoting sports in the country. It also places great emphasis on youth development, having sponsored several sport events and other youth teams across the country ranging from golf, football, traditional shooting contests, cricket and more.
