Yangon, Shawwal 19, 1437, July 24, 2016, SPA -- A small explosion at the US embassy in Myanmar's
commercial capital Yangon on Sunday was linked to a safety drill,
police said, adding that there were no injuries, according to dpa.
"During a safety drill in the embassy compound, a tear gas blast accidently occurred," said Zaw Win, a police officer in Kamarut Township where the embassy is located.
He said the embassy had informed police "about the accident." Smoke and a foul smell were reported from outside the embassy, according to local media reports.
