SCAD's report shows decreasing prices of some building materials in June

ABU DHABI, 24th July 2016 (WAM) --- The Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) today said prices of 11 building materials in the emirate of Abu Dhabi went down at varying rates last month.

The average prices of the diesel group and the transport equipment group fell by 13.3 and 0.2 per cent, respectively, in June, when compared to prices in the same month in 2015, according to the latest SCAD's monthly statistical report.

The average prices of electric cables and wooden materials fell by 10.6 and 4.1 per cent, respectively, in June, while the prices of suspended ceilings increased by 8.1 per cent in June, compared with the same month in 2015.

The report notes that the cost of labour in June went up by 8 per cent, when compared with the previous month.
