Mitsubishi to restore its business status in Iran

(MENAFN) Since the economic sanctions on Iran were lifted, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp has become the 1st Japanese carmaker to do business with the Islamic Republic, based on recent reports.

The German-owned, Japan-based manufacturer of trucks and buses realizes the fact that Iran is one of the biggest automobile markets in the Middle East, thus will start exporting light-duty trucks this year.

Moreover, Japanese automakers used to export vehicles to Iran or operated assembly plants there, but the firms almost entirely withdrew from the oil rich country after the West's sanctions on it.

Furthermore, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation is one of the world's largest truck manufacturers, with Daimler AG of Germany owning nearly 89.2 percent of the Kanagawa-based giant.
