Tunisia, US Discuss Bilateral Ties


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunis, July 23 (QNA) - The importance of the strategic partnership between Tunisia and the United States was the focus of a talk, on Friday in Tunis, between the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken.
"The importance of the strategic partnership which is developed between the two democracies was the focus of the meeting," Tunisia Press Agency quoted U.S. Deputy Secretary of State as saying in a press statement after the talk.
The U.S. provided nearly one billion dollars through two previous loans guarantees, he reminded, noting that a third loan guarantee was signed on June 3, which will help Tunisia to access to a funding of up to $ 500 million on the international capital markets, he said. (QNA)
