Iran logs 8.8m tons of steel output over Jan-June


(MENAFN) Iran created 8.806 million tons of crude steel through the first six months of this year, signifying a growth of 5.18pct jump as opposed to the figure for 2015's cited period, which was 8.372 million tons.

In particular, over the previous month the Islamic Republic has produced 1.59 million tons of crude steel revealing a degeneration of 3.34 percent against the figure for May, which was 1.645 million tons.

On a wider scale, international steel production throughout last month amounted to a total of 135.72 million tons, which reflects 2.66 percent deterioration against the figure for May which was 139.439 million tons.

China topped the list of crude steel producers in the period with a yield of 399.5mn tons, while Japan and India with 52.04mn tons and 46.384mn tons respectively were listed in second and third places.
