RAF relief campaigns for displaced Iraqis


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) RAF volunteers distribute food kits to internally displaced Iraqis in Fallujah.

DOHA: Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has carried out three relief campaigns, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, for the benefit of over 85,000 Iraqi internally displaced persons (IDPs) in a number of Iraq";s cities and regions.

The campaigns are aimed to meet the needs of IDPs across Iraq";s Baghdad, Erbil, Kirkuk, Sulaimaniya, Anbar and Fallujah.

The three campaigns have distributed food baskets to 16,000 families in ancient and newly created displacement camps.

RAF ‘s campaigns are going on throughout the year, said Ali bin Yusuf Al Kuwari, RAF Head of the Finance Resources Development and Marketing Manager, adding that the Ramadan campaign was a part of its ongoing programme.

RAF will launch a new convoy this month to visit three camps for displaced people in different regions, including the provision of medical assistance in addition to food aid, Al Kuwari said, adding that RAF spares no effort to aid our brothers in Iraq through the implementation of various humanitarian projects to alleviate the suffering of the displaced.QNA
