UAE- Sharjah brings down serious offenses


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Rate of serious crimes has been reduced by 56 per cent during the first half of this year compared to the same period of the last year.

However, the rate of the crimes recorded against unknown suspects increased by 86 per cent, though the police managed to refer them to public prosecution, according to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Sharjah Police.

He attributed the drop in crime rate to public who cooperated with the police and intensified Insad patrols in industrial, commercial and residential areas to ensure security and prevent crimes.

He added that the department is working on regular basis to upgrade their work system based on requirement of security situation.

He urged community members to cooperate more with police in order to curb crimes and achieve the common social responsibility.
