KUWAIT CITY, July 21: MP Ahmad Lari has proposed deletion of Item D in Article 24 of Domestic Workers Law number 86/2015, which stipulates that administrative measures shall be taken against domestic labor offices if they hire the 'retrieved' workers or those recruited by others.

In the explanatory note of the bill, the lawmaker pointed out the abovementioned item does not ensure equality between the domestic labor offices and the closed joint stock company for the recruitment and employment of domestic workers. He pointed out the item prohibits the domestic offices from recruiting the 'retrieved' workers, while the closed joint stock company is allowed to do so.

Meanwhile, MP Dr Abdullah Al- Turaiji stressed that Th ursday's court ruling on the Abdally cell case is a confi rmation of what they have repeatedly warned regarding the presence of parties sharing intelligence information with Iran and Hezbollah against Kuwait and its security and sovereignty. He asserted, 'Th e decision of the judiciary is the truth.

There is no voice louder than that of truth and justice.' He claimed some people hurriedly took positions as they tried to discredit the Interior Ministry and the Public Prosecution, forgetting that such actions will not affect Kuwait's judiciary which is known for its integrity.

He stressed the need to respect the ruling of the fair judiciary, noting that the defendants exercised their right to appeal. He said the ruling confirmed the involvement of a number of defendants on matters against State security. He suggested the accused may also resort to the Court of Cassation, after which the sentence becomes final and due for execution. He added such rulings serve as a deterrent to anyone who wants to tamper with the security of Kuwait.

He went on to say that the Court of Appeals affirmed the authenticity of investigations conducted by the State Security and military intelligence on the coordination between one of the accused and an employee of the Iranian Embassy in spying through the Abdally cell. He asserted this dismisses all doubts and those trying to defend the people involved in the case which shook the country, given the size of the cache of weapons seized earlier and the names of those accused of collaborating with Iran against their own country.
