Oman's Port of Sohar achieves high levels

(MENAFN) Oman International Container Terminal (OICT) has received 4 new electric Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (eRTGC) for deployment at Terminal C in the Port of Sohar.

The all new equipment is in line with the expansion of Terminal C by the end of 2016, not to mention that the eRTGCs will basically save fuel and reduces CO2 emissions.

An additional six RTGCs will be supplied before this year ends, bringing OICT's overall to 32 RTGCs, and in addition to the RTGCs, Terminal C has 39 yard tractors and 67 chassis trailers.

Furthermore, the terminal is set to receive four Super Post-Panamax quay cranes over 2016's first three months, allowing it to manage the latest generation of mega-vessels.
