Alibaba on path to grow further in Australia


(MENAFN) Alibaba, China's biggest e-commerce site has revealed arrangements to open an office in Melbourne, Australia later this year, based on recent reports.

In accordance, the giant retailer's growth in Australia is aimed at being able to better serve its merchants in Australia, as well as those in New Zealand.

There are currently almost 1,300 Australian brands being sold through Alibaba's Tmall and Tmall Global platforms to nearly 423 million online shoppers in China.

The firm projects to continue expanding its cloud business in Australia to better serve smaller firms, plus building a better logistics infrastructure in the country.
