China to kick forestry yield worth to USD1.3t by 2020


(MENAFN) China is seeking to promote forest coverage to 23.04 percent by 2020 from the current 21.66 percent, thus the volume of growing stock shall grow to 16.5 billion cubic meters (bcm), up from 15.14 bcm by the end of 2015.

Accordingly, over the last five years, investment in the forestry industry totaled USD75.1 billion, 1.7 times the sum registered in the prior five years, plus the nation will boost forestry output value to USD1.37tn from last year's USD882bn.

In more detail, according to the State Forestry Administration (SFA), China's forest cover is nearly 10 percentage points lower than the global average rate, in spite of expanding 30 million hectares during the past five years.
