Denmark to reinforce alliance with Iran


(MENAFN) Denmark is very keen to enhance cooperation with Iran in the development of renewable energy sector, which translates to its interest in build a wind-turbine plant in the Asian nation.

Accordingly, the long-term goal of the proposal from the Danish to construct a power plant is basically to turn Iran into a production hub, from which products can be exported to other regional countries.

Denmark has considerably large deposits of oil and natural gas in the North Sea and ranks as number 32 in the world among net exporters of crude oil, and was producing 259,980 barrels of crude oil a day in 2009.

Furthermore, the top European nation has been a pioneer in integrating wind power to its electricity sector on a large scale, and it's a member nation of the International Renewable Energy Agency.
