(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, July 20 (Petra) -- Israel's Knesset early Wednesday passed the second and the third readings of a law allowing legislators, with a three-quarters super-majority, to expel other members of Knesset for making statements they deem beyond the pale.
Under the law's stipulations, the Knesset can now kick out a member for "incitement to racism and support of armed struggle against the state" if a total of 90 members of the Knesset vote in favor of expulsion.
During the suspension period, the MK would be replaced by the next person on their party's electoral list.
Arab legislators said that the new law is "unconstitutional" and directly targets their freedom of speech.
