(MENAFN) Rosatom, a leading Russian nuclear company, has closed a contract with a US nuclear power plant operator to supply Russian nuclear fuel, based on the latest data.
Under the deal, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH), the North Carolina-based provider of advanced reactors and nuclear services, will be receiving pilot batch of Russian nuclear fuel.
Rosatom sees the significance of the alliance and will provide all the needed technical details to effectively complete the licensing process with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Furthermore, Russia has a 17pct share in the global market of nuclear fuel, and it fully covers the needs of Russian reactors and also works in 14 other nations, including Finland and China.
