President of Kenya Meets Qatar's UNESCO Candidate


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Nairobi, July 18 (QNA) - President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta has met with HE adviser at the Emiri Diwan, Qatar's candidate for the post of director-general of the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and President of the 13th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD XIII) Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari.
HE Al Kuwari conveyed during the meeting greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the President of Kenya and his wishes of further progress and prosperity for the Kenyan people as well as HH congratulations to the Republic of Kenya on taking over the presidency of (UNCTAD XIV).
For his part, the Kenyan President entrusted HE Dr. Al Kuwari with his greetings to HH the Emir, wishing him best of health and happiness, and for the people of Qatar further progress and prosperity.
The Kenyan President also expressed his pleasure with the level of the excellent relations between the two countries, and thanked the State of Qatar for its presidency of the (UNCTAD XIII) and for its role in the international organizations and the United Nations.
President of the Republic of Kenya affirmed his country's support for HE Qatar's Candidate for UNESCO Director General post Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari.
The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Kenya Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Abdullah.
Dr. Al Kuwari handed over the presidency of the UNCTAD XIV to the Republic of Kenya, successor to the State of Qatar which chaired the (UNCTADXIII). (QNA)
