Kuwait- Electricity usage hits new record of 13,250 MW Sunday


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Electricity usage hit a new record of 13,250 MW on Sunday, exceeding by 200 MW compared to the previous record, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources. They explained that the main reason behind the increase in electricity consumption is the high temperatures in the country which crossed 50 degree Celsius.

The sources indicated that this record is expected to be broken within the next few days as electricity consumption could reach even 13,800 MW this summer. Meanwhile, power outage was experienced for two hours in some parts of Jahra area including Jahra Hospital due to cable failure. The sources affirmed that emergency teams exerted tremendous efforts to restore electricity in the area within a short time.
