(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) At leastfive warehouses located in Sharjah's industrial area no 4 were destroyed in a major blaze on Monday.
Warehouses belonging to a furniturefactory and other companies were completely destroyed by a massive fire which eruptedtoday at 3 pm. Nocausalities were reported but the fire caused huge loss of property. Also read: Fire erupts in Sharjah transformer, power outage for 3 hours Civil Defence official said that fire fightersfromthree fire stations including Samnan, Muwailih, Al Sajjah,immediately reached the site of the fire and managed to control the fire - preventing it fromspreading to nearby warehouses and commercial outlets. The operation took three hours before the cooling operation was started, the official added. He further added that the site has been handed over to forensic expert of the police for investigation to determine the cause of the fire. The warehouses contained flammable materials such as sponge, wood, fabrics, chemicals and diesel whichcaused aheavy plume ofsmoke that engulfed the Sharjah sky. X
