Doosan Heavy logs USD111m in profits over Q2

(MENAFN) Doosan Heavy Industries Co., South Korea's key power equipment maker, reported positive figures throughout the second quarter from a year earlier.

The Changwon-based giant attributed the robust results to the increased gains from equity ties with affiliates and tough restructuring moves aimed at reducing costs.

In detail, gross profit touched a total of USD111 million over the April-June timeframe on a consolidated basis, as opposed to a loss of USD219 million a year earlier.

Additionally, operating income increased 58 percent on-year to reach USD229 million, while sales declined 3.7 percent to USD3.1 billion over the mentioned period.
