Berlin, Shawwal 13, 1437, July 18, 2016, SPA -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel is scheduled to meet British Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday to discuss Britain's decision to leave the European Union and its consequences, a government spokesman said in Berlin, according to dpa.
May is expected to be welcomed at the chancellery with military honours and hold talks with Merkel at 5:30 pm (1530 GMT), followed by a working dinner, Steffen Seibert announced Monday, adding that the coup attempt in Turkey would also be discussed.
May is then due to fly to Paris on Thursday for a bilateral meeting with French President Francois Hollande, Downing Street said on Monday.
The leaders will discuss "the fight against terrorism, external security issues, the implementation of Brexit and the importance of the bilateral relationship" between Britain and France, the AFP news agency reported, citing the Elysee Palace.
