Minister opens Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Minister of Public Health H E Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari inagurating Al Khail Heath Centre, yesterday.

DOHA: Minister of Public Health H E Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari yesterday inaugurated Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre, equipped with latest devices, has capacity to provide services to around 150,000 patients from Fareej Abdul Ajeez, Fareej bin Mahmud, Najma, Mansoura, Al Muntaza and other nearby areas.

The Minister said the centre is part of an ambitious strategy to improve medical services and public health. The centre has all latest equipment to provide high-quality medical services.

She said projects are in development phase to bring health services to the best international standards while many centres are undergoing renovation.

Dr Mariam Ali Abdulmalik, Managing Director, Primary Healthcare Care Corporation (PHCC) and officials from health sector attended the inauguration ceremony.

The Minister was briefed by officials on the centre";s services.

She said the opening of the centre is a big achievement for PHCC in improving health services as it is not a traditional health centre.

It provides treatment to patients and helps them enjoy a healthy life. There will be sessions for smokers to help them kick the habit.

The centre will also host sessions by nutrition consultants on healthy cooking and offer other health enhancing services and lifestyle support for patients.

Dr Abdulla Al Nema, Director of the centre, said the facility runs on the Clinical Information System (CIS) in which all records of patients are stored electronically and services will be offered through appointment system.

In addition to providing all regular services offered by Muntaza Health Centre, the new centre will also provide new services. The centre, with 39 doctors, 85 nurses and 38 administrative employees, is open from 7am to 11pm, said Al Nema.

The services include preventive and curative services such as vaccination, mental health services, cancer screening, physiotherapy, dermatology, ENT and clinics for family medicine, non-communicable diseases, babies, dental and ophthalmology.

The centre also provides laboratory services, pharmacy, radiology, pre-marital services, home care services, optical, dermatology and wellness services, added Al Nema.

Mussalam Al Nabit, Assistant General Manager, Administrative and Finance, PHCC, said the corporation is aware of the continuous increase in the population which require new health centres and renovation of the old ones.

Dr Samia Al Abdulla, Executive Manager of Operations, said the centre is part of wellness health centres PHCC plans to open in coming years. These centres focus on providing long-term services to the patients.

Fatiah Al Meer, Director of the Central Area, said the centre boasts professional doctors and nurses having specialisation in different areas in addition to the latest equipment. It will be able to meet high demand of this part of the area which is one the highly populated areas in Doha. He said the centre is categorised as an A class facility and provides additional services such as gym, multi-depth swimming pool, massage and sauna.
