Breast cancer forum in October

Doha: Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman, Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), has announced the launch of an international conference on breast cancer under the theme 'Current standards and new prospects"; to be held at Sheraton Hotel from October 28 to 29.

It coincides with the global awareness campaign on breast cancer, which is most prevalent in Qatar and the world

Dr. Sheikh Khalid the conference will provide a process that promotes quality healthcare for breast cancer patients and access to the latest developments in prevention , early detection, diagnosis and treatment.

It will be attended by a large number of experts, lecturers and researchers from countries, including the US, Austria, Canada and GCC states, and will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, Primary Health Care Corporation and National Centre for Treatment of Cancer Research.

The conference will be accompanied by a medical exhibition to update companies in the medical industry on the latest innovations in the field of breast cancer.

Also, there will be an educational programme that includes lectures, panel discussions and workshops by experts, lecturers and international participants. There will also be a programme on CME points accredited by the ministry.

Dr. Sheikh Khalid said the reason for choosing breast cancer for discussion is 'because it is prevalent among women in Qatar and the world. According to World Health Organisation, breast cancer is at the forefront of cancers that affect women in the developed and developing countries.
