US reports slight economic progress in June


(MENAFN) U.S. economic activity continued to grow at a shy pace from mid-May over the end of last month, with modest progress in employment and slight price pressures, based on reports.

In accordance, the reports revealed that the outlook was generally positive across broad segments of the economy including retail sales, manufacturing, and real estate.

Overall consumer spending was positive but with signs of softening, whereas most districts were predominantly optimistic about the outlook for consumer spending activity.

Moreover, the Fed decided to keep interest rates unchanged in its June policy meeting due to doubt in the labor market and the U.K. referendum on its affiliation in the EU.
