Qatar- RAF provides Eid gifts to orphans in Sudan


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Orphan children with RAF officials with Eid gifts at a ceremony held in Khartoum, Sudan.



DOHA: Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has concluded its programmes for providing Eid gifts, including cash, clothes and toys, to orphans on the occasion of Eid-Al Fitr.

The conclusion ceremony was held at Spark City Hall, downtown Khartoum City, capital of Sudan. New dresses, some cash and toys were distributed to 1,000 orphans (boys and girls) in the ceremony.

The initiative, titled Farhat Al Eid (Happiness of Eid), held in three countries, Jordon, Indonesia and Sudan, to provide Eid gifts to 2,500 orphan children and financial support to their families and those caring them.

The financial support included some cash and food baskets that were given to the families on the side line of activities.

Entertainment programmes and games were also conducted as part of the event. 'The top priority of RAF is building human resources and all it";s projects are being implemented accordingly, said Abdunnasir Ibrahim Al Fakhro, Deputy Head of ambassador of mercy unit of RAF at the ceremony. 'RAF implements charity projects, including humanitarians, educational and developmental, for poor people in 97 countries across the world,” he added. 'Separate projects were also designed for the empowerment of orphans in collaboration with government and private sector of respected countries,” said Fakhro.

RAF and Qatar government always support people in Sudan, said Dr Mohamad Al Sinari Mustafa, a representative of RAF in Sudan.
