Tunisia posts 1.3 percent decline in export revenues


(MENAFN) Income of Tunisian exports posted amid H1 of 2016, a drop of 1.3 percent to reach USD14.25bn, against USD6.49bn, during the same period of 2015.

However, imports dropped by 1.5 percent reaching USD20.28bn, against USD9.26bn during the same period in 2015.

Accordingly, the decline in exports of agricultural and food sector by 36 percent was due to fall of olive oil sales during this period.

In addition, the decline posted in imports at 1.5 percent is explained by the fall in the energy sector imports by 33.9 percent due to lower oil crude.
