UAE- NMC participates in Ramadan Safety Campaign

ABU DHABI, 14th July, 2016 (WAM) -- The National Media Council, NMC, recently took part in the ''Ramadan is Safety'' campaign which was launched by Al Ihsan Charity Association nationwide during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness in the dangers of high speed driving by the provision of snacks for motorists on main roads and streets which witness increased traffic before Maghreb Prayer.

NMC staff distributed snacks to motorists on main intersections in Abu Dhabi with the participation of volunteers. Rashid Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Support Services Department at NMC, took part in the event.

The NMC office in Sharjah, represented by staff and the Director of the NMC office in Dubai, Juma'a Alleem, distributed snacks to motorists on the streets of Sharjah. In Ajman, NMC office staff distributed 1,200 Iftar meals in various areas in Ajman in a daily basis.

In Dubai, the NMC office also participated in the campaign as they joined Al Ihsan Charity Association volunteers and distributed 380 Iftar meals to motorists.

NMC employees in Fujairah also distributed snacks on the streets of the emirate, as did NMC staff in Al Ain, out of their commitment to support voluntary and charitable work.

The Ramadan Campaign aimed to distribute half a million meals during the course of the Holy Month of Ramadan across the UAE with participation of more than 5,000 volunteers to distribute Iftar meals. Some 50 government, semi-government and private departments took part in the campaign.
