At least 10 killed in multiple bombings in Iraq
(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) >At least 10 people, including four soldiers and a journalist, were killed Thursday in multiple bomb attacks across Iraq, according to an army officer.
Maj. Nawfal al-Zamili told Anadolu Agency that five people were killed and 19 others wounded in bombings at public places in Baghdad";s southeastern neighborhoods of Jisr Diyala and Nahrawan, eastern neighborhood of Hayy Ur and southwestern neighborhood of Hayy Al-A'amel.
A separate suicide attack at a military checkpoint in Tarmiyah, north of Baghdad, killed four soldiers and wounded nine others, Zamili added.
Meanwhile, Journalistic Freedoms Observatory, an Iraqi media watchdog, released a statement saying a photojournalist was killed, and a correspondent was wounded in a separate attack blamed on Daesh in southern Mosul district of Qayyarah.
Ali Mahmoud, a photojournalist at the private television network al-Qadir was killed by a rocket, the statement said, identifying the wounded correspondent as Ali Jawad from the Iraqi state television.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
