Oman- Over RO27,000 recovered by PACP in disputes

The Consumer Protection Administration in Dhahirah governorate has recovered over RO27,000 in disputes in the first half of 2016. A press release stated that the administration had taken legal action as per the Consumer Protection Law.

It has recovered over RO25,000 through out of court settlements and RO2,000 through court judgments. The administration had received 246 complaints through its hotline, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection's website and social media page. Many had also registered complaints at the administration's office in Dhahirah.

The complaints were related to car workshops, spare parts, contracting, mobile phones and services, clothes, aluminium and carpentry workshops, manpower services and other goods and services. PACP has called upon all traders and service providers to adhere to the law and protect consumers' rights.
