Morocco Took All Security Measures to Ensure Success of COP22


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Morocco took all security measures necessary to ensure the success of the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22), slated on Nov. 7-18 in Marrakech, said on Wednesday Minister delegate for the Interior Cherki Drais.

Drais, who was speaking at a meeting in Rabat with a delegation of 27 reporters from 15 African countries, including the Arab Maghreb, on a visit to Morocco to get informed about preparations under way for holding the COP22, underlined that preparations are going smoothly, highlighting the importance of this conference for the ministry, as well as its huge efforts to guarantee the success of this event through coordination and close action with Marrakech local authorities and Moroccan security services which are known for their vigilance and efficiency, as well as at the level of the Kingdom's ports and airports.

Morocco has a great experience in the field of organizing international, Arab and African summits and conferences which had attracted thousands of participants from around the world, he said.

On journalists' access to the said event, Drais noted that the concerned governmental sectors are striving to facilitate media coverage for this worldwide event and making sure that journalists are working in good conditions.
