2 soldiers dead, 4 injured in eastern Ukraine

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) Two Ukrainian soldiers died and four others were injured during Monday operations in eastern Ukraine, authorities said.

Speaking at a briefing about the operations on Tuesday, spokesman for anti-terror operations, Andrey Lysenko, said a mine blast in the eastern Ukrainian city of Marinka was the cause behind the death of the two soldiers.

Four other Ukrainian soldiers were injured in operations conducted in the eastern Ukrainian city of Avdiivka and the urban settlement of Zaitseve, both located in the Donetsk region.

Ukraine has been wracked by conflict since April 2014, following Russia";s annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine.

Around 9,300 people have been killed in fighting between Ukrainian government forces and pro-Russia separatists, according to the UN.
