Canadian, Kurdish officials discuss liberation of Mosul

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) IRBIL, July 13 (KUNA) -- Canadian National Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan met Wednesday with Nechervan Barzani, the Prime Minister of Iraq's Kurdistan region, discussing with him the role of Peshmerga troops in liberating Mosul.
The Canadian Defense Minister was satisfied with the level of cooperation between the two sides, noting that the Canadian military was supervising the training of the Peshmerga troops.
On his part, Barzani praised the role of the Canadian military in Kurdistan region which helped the Peshmerga and Iraqi troops liberate Mosul from the so-called Islamic State (IS). (end) sbr.mar
