Myanmar forms national reconciliation, peace center


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) > Myanmar government formed an 11-member National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) Monday, led by State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, according to an announcement of the President' Office.

The formation is aimed to effectively and successfully implement the work of national reconciliation and lasting peace and to lay down the policy and guidelines in the implementation, the statement said.

The office appointed U Kyaw Tint Swe, minister of the State Counselor' Office, and Dr Tin Myo Win, chairman of the Preparatory Committee for Holding Panglong Conference, as two Vice Chairmen.

The peace center will explore ways for the emergence of a federal union, the statement added.
