Turkey's unemployment amount falls by 9.3pct in June


(MENAFN) Turkey's month-on-month joblessness fell slightly by 9.3 percent in June from 9.6 percent in May, but this is still more than the June-2015 amount of 8.8 percent.

Total unemployed people in Turkey aged 15 years and over was 2.78 million, a surge of 238,000 in the June-2016 timeframe compared to the same period in 2015.

According to latest data, the employment rate went up marginally over the year to 46.9pct in June, while the labor force rate remained at 51.7pct, with 29.86 million people in work.

Women in work saw their numbers jump to 32.1 percent, marking a 1.1 percentage point increase over the year to June. The rate for men stayed the same at 71.8 percent.
