Kuwait- Call to address issue of senior positions in MoE

(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait Teachers Society (KTS), which is currently headed by Waleed Al-Hassawi, has submitted proposals to Ministry of Education's Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Affairs Fatma Al-Kandari on the need to address issues related to supervisory positions in the next school year, says Al-Seyassah.

According to sources, the society has requested for reduction of the quota for technical instructors with various fields of specialization and appointment of third assistant director in schools with large student population. Sources explained the second request is aimed at giving a chance to those promoted without an appointment instead of waiting for a long time for the activation of the decision on their promotion.

Meanwhile, the Public Authority for Youth Affairs (PAYA) is currently coordinating with 'Watheq' Project of the Amiri Diwan and the Ministry of Education to prepare the annual agenda for youth leadership skills development programs, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.

Sources revealed the agenda will be announced in all schools at the beginning of the next school year, in cooperation with the educational districts. Sources explained the agenda includes worthwhile activities for the youths during holidays and programs for the development of their leadership skills for them to greatly contribute to national growth. And, the Ministry of Health (MoH) intends to establish clinics in security directorates in the six governorates for the medical check-up of those wishing to join the military corps in a bid to reduce pressure on Qurtoba Center, reports Al-Nahar daily quoting Assistant Undersecretary for Private Medical Services Dr Mohammad Al-Khashti. Al-Khashti disclosed the clinics shall consist of heart and ophthalmology units, indicating the Interior Ministry will be in charge of the construction while its health counterpart will provide medical equipment and staff.

On the suspension of the issuance of cards to patients undergoing treatment at home, Al-Khashti clarified the ministry has proposed the establishment of private sanitoriums for addiction treatment. He added the implementation of the proposal necessitates the concerted efforts of several government entities.
