Qatar inaugurates two projects in Moroccan region

Doha: Qatar yesterday inaugurated two out of five projects in Errachidia, Morocco, under the directives of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to support the socio-cultural, sport and industrial sectors in the kingdom.

The projects were accomplished under supervision and implementation of Private Engineering Office.

They were opened by Governor of Errachidia, Draa Tafilalet Province, Mohammed Fenaid, Qatari Ambassador to Morocco Abdullah Falah Al Dossari, and International Foundation for Wildlife Research Director- General Hamad Misfer Al Hajri, in the presence officials from the province.

The first project includes a social and cultural centre and a sports facility in Errachidia, over an area of 3,650 square metres to accommodate young people and develop their abilities to contribute to the progress of society in various fields.

The second project includes a centre for traditional industries on an area of 3,091sqm and consists of three floors with a basement car parking.

Al Dossari highlighted the importance of the projects and their role in the development of society in the region.

He said cooperation between both countries will continue under the leadership of the Emir and King Mohammed VI of Morocco, expressing his thanks to officials and people of the region who contributed to the realisation of the projects.

Engineer Faisal Abdullah Al Dosari, Head, Special Projects Department, Private Engineering Office, said the grand mosque will be opened by the end of the year, as one of the largest mosques in the region and will accommodate 7,000 worshipers, and contain buildings, including homes for the muezzin, and the preacher, a building for the guard, a shopping complex and a Holy Quran school.
