Al Bowardi heads UAE delegation at meeting of NATO Defence Ministers

WARSAW, 10th July, 2016 (WAM) -- Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, has led a high-level UAE military delegation participating in the meeting of the NATO Defence Ministers, which began on Friday and concluded yesterday in the Polish capital, Warsaw, with the participation of more than 53 states.

The UAE''s delegation comprised a number of senior officers and officials of the Ministry of Defence.

The conference touched on a number of important issues, including security challenges affecting the stability, the fight against terrorism and terrorist organisations, weapons of mass destruction, the refugee crisis and e-security, as well as many important issues of concern.

Al Bowardi, in a speech during the meeting, stressed the deep history of the relationship between the UAE and NATO, which has seen remarkable development over the past years and the role played by the UAE in supporting the stability and peacekeeping.

He noted the need to strengthen areas of cooperation and interdependence between NATO and partner countries to strengthen regional security and global stability.
