Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry is heading to Israel on Sunday in a visit thataims to boost stalling Palestinian-Israeli peace process, discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.

Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Shoukry will hold extensive discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The ministry said the visit is important and comes in an important timing ''following the call by president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for the importance of reaching an inclusive and just resolution for the Palestinian issue.''

Solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will make the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel ''warmer'', Al-Sisi said in May, adding that Egypt is ready to mediate to end the conflict.

Shoukry will also focus on ways to activate the international resolutions and previous agreements to build trust between the Israelis and the Palestinians as a step to revive the peace talks.

Shoukry was in Ramallah last month to discuss the peace process with the Palestinian side.

He also participated in the ministerial meeting in Paris early June that aimed to bring the Israelis and the Palestinians into the negotiations based on the French initiative.
